For those wishing to deepen their Ashtanga yoga practice, or move to the next level, a Mysore
style practice is really the way to go. I'd like to offer a session
in Cary, but would love to hear from you as far as when would be a
good time or day.

my class at Namaste Yoga Center on Sunday March 21 at 8:30am. I will
begin the class as a led Primary series class, and we will break off
into a Mysore style class about half way through. Those that want to
continue on to learn the rest of Primary Series will do so with
guidance, and those ready to begin Intermediate series will be given
that option.

Named after Mysore, India, the birthplace of modern Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga, the term "mysore style" indicates a self paced class. Students are expected to learn the Ashtanga yoga system, and practice at their own pace, with the teacher in attendance to assist and/or make adjustments.
Aside from the obvious advantage of being able to practice at one's own pace, there is a certain energy present in Mysore style classes that is unique. Since the breath is so essential to the Ashtanga Vinyasa practice, and each individual breathes at their own pace, students get a much better feel for the effects of "riding the breath" so to speak.
Mysore classes are also a great place to ask questions or pause in your practice when needed, whereas in a led class, the focus is generally on sticking with the flow of the class with few interruptions or instructions on poses.
And of course, there is the benefit of learning and internalizing the practice, so that you can practice anywhere or anytime. Ashtanga yoga is designed to be practiced every day, beginning with a short practice for beginners, and building from there. After an initial investment of time and energy, students have a practice they can take with them anywhere, and practice for life.
